Description

Some star objects of the winter sky are present here. From left to right, we have the Flame Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula and the Great Orion Nebula just to name the most known objects.

The Flame Nebula, or NGC2024, is an emission nebula whose ionization source is Alnitak, the bright neighboring star (just above) which turns out to be the easternmost star in Orion's belt.

The Horsehead Nebula, or B33, is, with M42, the star of amateur astronomers. It regularly features on the cover of popular astronomy magazines. It is a dark nebula whose profile, seen from Earth, resembles a horse's head.

And finally, M42, the Great Orion Nebula. The star of social networks. If you are amateur astronomers and you hang around on social networks containing astrophotographers, you are necessarily invaded by shots of this one as winter approaches.
