Description
You have here a very wide field containing, notably, the Soul, Heart and Fish Head nebulae. From a technical point of view, this is actually a mosaic of 2 panels. 2 photos reassembled to form one large one.
At the bottom left, you have IC1848, the Soul Nebula. We often summarize this nebula to IC1848 but this is only the open cluster located in the right part of the nebula. But the Soul, it's of course the whole cloud.
In the center, IC1805, the Heart Nebula (you have to tilt your head a little) and, at the tip of the heart, the Fish Head Nebula catalogued as IC1795.
These 3 nebulae are emission nebulae, that is to say they emit their own light. This photo was taken without filter. Which means that the colors you see are, more or less (because the camera is more sensitive to infrared than our eye), those you would see if we were capable of accumulating light like a camera.
